Who are we?
Stepwise Footcare is a well-established, small, but busy and very well-equipped accredited podiatry practice located in the friendly and expanding village of Burwell, Cambridge. We are situated directly between Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds and only 5 miles from Newmarket.

We have extensive experience across a wide range of podiatry services, including biomechanics, gait analysis, children’s foot health, nail surgery, and diabetic foot care.
Vivien Honeyborne-Martins
LEAD PODIATRIST
I established Stepwise Footcare in 2004 after deciding to retrain as a podiatrist. I hold a first degree in Materials Science from the University of Cambridge, and carried out research into composite materials within the Engineering and Metallurgy Departments.

I later qualified as a teacher of physics and mathematics and, inspired by becoming a marathon runner, chose to change career to podiatry.
This varied background, alongside post-graduate study in clinical biomechanics, has given me exceptional insight into the biomechanical function of the foot, ankle and lower limb, and the therapeutic impact of bespoke orthotic insoles on comfort and performance. I also obtained an additional qualification in skin and nail surgery, extending my expertise beyond that of a typical podiatrist.
I am a Member of the Royal College of Podiatry and am registered with the HCPC.
Yasamin Salamat-Zadeh
PODIATRIST
I am a dedicated podiatrist with over ten years of experience, having graduated from the University of East London in 2011.

I began my career in the NHS, initially focusing on diabetes and wound care before going on to specialise in musculoskeletal (MSK) podiatry. In 2020, I completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Biomechanics at Staffordshire University, where I developed expertise in gait analysis and sports injuries, and carried out research into the factors that influence runners when choosing footwear — a passion that continues to shape my approach today.
Now in private practice, I focus on delivering practical, highly personalised care tailored to each individual.

I qualified to be an FHP in 2019 and since then have enjoyed many aspects of footcare. In addition to my FHP qualifications I am a qualified nail reconstruction technician (Wilde Pedique).

What do we do?
At Stepwise Footcare we aim to offer our patients top of the range professional care.
We provide general footcare to all those who can no longer manage their own feet alongside a range of more specialist treatments including, nail surgery, biomechanical assessments, Lunula Laser fungal nail treatment, a wide range of verruca treatments, observational and MotionMetrix markerless instrumented clinical gait analysis and toenail reconstruction.
Our clinic benefits from an easy to find location, opposite the petrol station in central Burwell, wheelchair friendly access, ample parking, with ready access to the local bus service.
Stepwise Footcare is an Accredited Practice as recognised by the Royal College of Podiatry.
